Last year, coming from a more competitive environment at my old school, I placed just the basic goals in order to maintain a high GPA. The three goals from last year school wise were to get straight A's every cycle, become more involved in the community to expand my social network and complete my volunteer hours, and to stop procrastinating. I personally progressed well, not all straight A's, but nothing lower than a B plus. I know that if I tried harder and stopped putting off so much work, I definitely have the potential to have straight a's. I have completed my volunteer hours last year and over the summer, therefore I do not have to keep volunteering, but the career I want to succeed in when I grow up is pediatric oncology, and I have signed up this year to volunteer over next summer, which will help me acquire more experience with the medical field. For the procrastination part, coming to a school without any pressure about being the best has made me today lazier than I was before, and hopefully I can improve on that by studying every night and not pushing anything past the deadlines.
Three goals for next semester I want to pursue is to get on honor roll and join NHS(National Honor Society), to be able to speak, read and write Arabic and Spanish, and to maintain a positive lifestyle. Yes, these goals were somewhat in a different category than last years, but now being in a different school, each goal has a significance. I have always wanted to be on NHS because to me it has always been something I've had to do in order to maintain a good college representation. To become fluent in Spanish, referring back to the idea that most of Texas is bilingual in Spanish, and to learn Arabic, with the fact that more than half the people born in Arabian countries are born with cancer will give me a skill needed throughout my career when working with these patients. Lastly, I want to pursue a positive and healthy lifestyle because every day is getting harder for all of us, and by maintaining this lifestyle will give me the advantage of taking on every day, one smile at a time.
This picture symbolizes achievement. Over the past year, I know that I have overcome and achieved many obstacles and challenges. Reflecting on the goals I wanted to pursue for this semester, I believe that I have achieved all of them. I have been inducted into NHS, (which I say is the most exciting and rewarding thing -education wise-). All of the classes that I have taken are helping me greatly in learning how to be fluent in Arabic and Spanish. Lastly, living a positive and healthy lifestyle has given me the greatest advantage by far. I am glad I have achieved all of these goals here are the ones I will pursue next school year:
1. Study every night/complete all of my work
2. Maintain a 4.0 GPA
3. Maintain a healthy and positive lifestyle

Updated Goals for Junior Year:
This first semester taking rigorous HCC classes and being more involved in activities has really demanded me to utilize my time wisely and limit my procrastination. Honestly I have been a big procrastinator and instead of studying and completing my homework on the night of, I would struggle the next day to complete. My grades reflected and instead of getting all A's, I earned B's.
My goals for this semester:
1. Make sure to complete my homework on the night of.
2. Attend tutorials for Math and Science classes
3. Study 6 days prior for better retention and long term memorization
4. Reflect grades that will adhere to a 3.5 GPA before graduation

REFLECTION OF THIS YEAR AND GOALS FOR SENIOR YEAR 2015-16
Personally, I feel like I accomplished my goals I set for earlier this semester. I have tried my best and I am self-aware that I am not the best, but I am the best for myself because there will always be someone better than me. I have accepted the idea that I will not fret over competing with others in my class, just in a healthy way. This whole year, I have identified strategies to study that are effective to me. My communication skills have improved and I have been globally aware about issues and phenomena that I wouldn't have learned about with the doors I have opened here.
Therefore, my goals for senior year are:
1.) Graduate with full associates of arts degree
2.) Get accepted into my top 7 (or at least my match and 1 overmatch)
3.) Accomplish 2 + projects for NHS
4.) Get the announcements up for senior year
5.) A B in HCC classes and B's at HAIS
6.) Finding a neurology internship and accomplishing my capstone project
